These days, I so often read the news and then go draw. Today I read about human rights groups that warn that while England’s health system rushes to protect its workers, it must not ignore the slave-like conditions of those making rubber gloves. This has become one more way for me to ask myself if this current crisis is what it takes for us to understand that we’re here together.

as an artist, I play a creative role with realistic works about what is happening worldwide, from my point of view and being consistent we have reached the path of the COVID-19 virus for all the contamination without absolute limit coming to cause serious damage to nature.

We are into the third week of our hard lockdown in South Africa. Only essential workers are allowed outside to work. The rest of us are required to stay indoors, permitted out only to acquire food and medicine. No outside exercise. No walking the dog. No alcohol being sold. Not even cigarettes. All of this with the aim of “flattening the curve” of infection, to provide more time for our health services to prepare for the eventual spike in critical cases.

Dengbej ist in weiten Teilen Kurdistans bei Festen und sonstigen Anlässen eine verbreitete Form der Weitergabe von Überlieferungen, Nachrichten und Botschaften. 
Die kurdische Sängerin Dengbej Xalide lebt in Istanbul und beschreibt in ihrem Beitrag eine populäre kurdische Liebesgeschichte.
