Let's reclaim the frame! During Pride Month in June, the Filmcasino and Filmhaus will become a place for exploring international queer film art. 8 films from all over the world, which could hardly be more different, invite you to find yourself in familiar and less familiar facets of queer life on the big screen from June 3-20. Curated by Mattias Fabian.

A lot has happened since 1977, when a small group of queer people gathered in Harvey Milk's legendary camera store in San Francisco to protest against the inadequate representation of queer life in film and television. They took the reins themselves and showed cinematic works by, about and for the gay and lesbian community. Decades later, queer stories have found their way into the mainstream, but many of these works still reproduce clichés, stereotypes and homonormative moral concepts. The QUEER FRAMES series questions such patterns and brings intersectional queer perspectives and aesthetics to the fore.
