In her book published in October 2024, the professor of political theory and history of ideas attempts to bring together postcolonial, queer-feminist theories and theories of the Enlightenment. For her, postcolonial critical thinking is neither simply opposed to the Enlightenment nor incompatible with it, especially when it comes to Enlightenment norms such as democracy, equality, freedom and (global) justice. The decolonisation of the Enlightenment can inspire us to ‘change the world to make it less violent and unjust.’
