Cathrine Saint Jude Pretorius was born in Cape Town. She studied politics at the University of Cape Town and started her career in the underground scene, with which she is still connected today. She realized an artistic exploration of themes such as queerness and gender stereotypes as Drag King Dope Saint Dude. This allowed her the freedom to create a space where she could experiment with the boundaries and fluidity of gender. The musician's dynamic sound productions, lyrics, and performances in which she plays with gender roles and queerness helped her gain international exposure.
In 2016, she released her self-produced EP, Reimagine, and with its success made a strong statement as a woman in a male-dominated industry. https://dopesaintjude.com/
