Muslim*Contemporary sees itself as a multidisciplinary, participatory and dialogical festival that aims to reflect on the place of participation of Muslim communities in society through art, education and dialogue. The goal is to create spaces where important social discourses can be reflected and negotiated through representation.

For 2022, Muslim*Contemporary moved into the transalpine space. It is a matter of transcending the edge of the plate - of national borders. This, literally, horizon-expanding effort, however, goes hand in hand with a geographic and thematic focus. What do the neighboring regions, which are connected by the Alps among other things, have in common? How do Muslims, Muslim-read people and other marginalized groups experience this circumstance? What can all people participating here learn from each other, what can they unlearn together? And what can alliances look like?
