In cooperation with Welt&Co/Kulturverein and Verlagshaus Hernals Wien, Kunstbahnhof Wörthersee invites you to a literary evening with Menata Njie as part of the "curated by_station" series.
The Gambian-born author and former parliamentarian Menata Njie has achieved far-reaching legislative changes in the area of women's rights through her political activities and involvement in international organizations dedicated to the fight against female genital mutilation. She stayed in Austria after a political upheaval in The Gambia, which occurred during an international congress in Vienna, in order to avoid persecution and possible imprisonment. She shares her experiences in the fight against the oppression of women with European readers in the book "In der Drehtürfalle". Menata Njie's story is authentic, harrowing and courageous.
