Miriam Mona Mukalazi, leads the Africa Policy Programme at the Vienna Institute for Dialogue and Cooperation, with a focus on EU–Africa relations and Peace and Security. Prior to this, she was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Researcher at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence and holds a doctorate in Political Science from Heinrich Heine University. Miriam began her career at UN Women Germany, specialising in the UN's Women, Peace and Security agenda. As a visiting researcher, she worked at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and the Institute for Peace and Security Studies in Addis Ababa. Miriam has taught at the University of Cologne and worked as a consultant for the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy, the World Bank, and the European Commission.
