Noor Abed (Palestine) is an artist working at the intersection of performance and film, combining forms of the “staged” and the “documentary.” Her practice explores notions of social choreographies and collective formations, seeking connections between the concept of “synchronicity” and social action. Abed is the recipient of the Grand Prize of the 36th Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts. Her book Stars at Midday was published by Occasional Papers in October 2024.
In her video installation, Abed strips architecture down to its bare framework in order to create a new relationship between the female body, movement, and male-defined space.
