Wiener Beschwerdechor (Vienna Complaints Choir)

Viennese and Viennese women in dialogue with the Vienna Complaint Choir

Founded by Viennese media and conceptual artist Oliver Hangl in early 2010 as a long-term art project, the Wiener Beschwerdechor (Viennese Complaints Choir), under the musical direction of choir specialist Stefan Foidl, performs in an interventionist and mostly unannounced manner, and acts in a context- and site-specific manner with each performance. A choir as a mouthpiece for the urban population, as an outlet for typical Viennese discontent and subtle pique.

Oliver Hangl - artistic director of the Vienna Complaints Choir, Stefan Foidl - musical director of the Vienna Complaints Choir, Ali Gedik, Baharak Abdolifard, Cedrick Mugiraneza, Helal Kashefi, Khadem Ghafori, Kiymet Ceviz, Özlem Akar, Senol Grasl-Akkilic - Viennese men and women, members of the Vienna Complaints Choir.
Guest musicians from Austria and Afghanistan will also participate.

Project coordination: Franjo Steiner - IZ Association for the Promotion of Diversity, Dialogue and Education
