From March 21 to April 6, 2022 Salam Orient celebrates its 20th edition. Pandemic conditionally with some delay, because last year the festival was moved from its usual period in October to spring 2022. Apart from the new period, however, Salam Orient presents itself in its usual manner with a wide range of music and, as already introduced for the first time in the last edition in 2020, there will also be an artist residency for visual arts in cooperation with the art space philomena+ this year. The literature track also has an international focus this time with the "Arabic Literature Days" - curated by writer Hamed Abboud. This year's thematic focus, which highlights the countries of the Sahara, also allows an interesting look at regions that are rarely in the public eye.
