As part of the partnership of the Vienna Musikverein with the Brunnenpassage

17.11.2022, 20.00
Musikverein
Gläserner Saal, Musikvereinsplatz 1, 1010 Vienna

"Our new song program is like an exciting head cinema, the main role is played by rarely heard songs from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia, which were influenced by various musical cultures such as the Sephardic and Oriental traditions. These are songs that we really wanted to save from oblivion" tell Nataša Mirković and Pippo Corvino about their new concert project.

The fine melodies of the Southeast European musical tradition can be warmly narrated with clarinet, which is also one of the most popular narrative instruments in Northern Macedonia, Serbia, but also Bosnia. Kurt Franz Schmid from the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria will be a part of this musical narrative as a guest musician and together with Nataša Mirković and Pippo Corvino will enter into a special dialogue between the stylistic and musical worlds of classical music and Southeast European tradition.

The audience can expect a musical journey through time inspired by the ancient beautiful lyricism of Southeast Europe. True stories are told, dealing with the elementary questions of life: love, loss and death. Handpicked, of musical beauty and pure simplicity, these songs are brought to the stage through delicate, clear and poetic musical arrangements.
