Panel & Kick-Off Event
30.09.2025, 17:00
Schauspielhaus Wien
Porzellangasse 19, 1090 Vienna
What stories do we tell? What images do we show?
Which knowledge is acknowledged – and which is overlooked? And what does cultural mediation look like that not only explains, but also questions existing assumptions and invites us to think anew together?
The Academy of Unlearning, a mentoring program by and for women* in cultural mediation initiated by kulturen in bewegung, is dedicated to exploring these and other questions. It connects migrant and BIPoC women with cultural mediators from eleven Viennese cultural institutions: brut Wien, Burgtheater Wien, Dschungel Wien, Kultursommer Wien, Kunst Haus Wien, MAK – Museum of Applied Arts, Schauspielhaus Wien, Volkskundemuseum Wien, Wiener Festwochen, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Wiener Staatsoper.
After careful program planning and the selection of eleven mentees from numerous qualified applications, we will celebrate the launch of the second program cycle on Tuesday, September 30, from 5 to 7 pm at Schauspielhaus Wien.
