Artist in Residence 2026
In her music, Hiba Elgizouli blends Sudanese traditions with experimental approaches. As co-founder of Salute Yal Bannot (“Respect to the Girls”), the first all-female band in Khartoum, and a contestant on Arabs Got Talent, she has been championing the visibility of women in music for over a decade. Together with her sisters, she realises projects at the intersection of music, art and fashion design as part of the collective The Elgizouli Sisters.
Her award-winning music videos“Rival”(2019) and“Bidaya” (2020) have received accolades at international film festivals. In 2025, she collaborated with OSKA at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Cairo and arranged two songs. Her music is based on pentatonic melodies and Sudanese rhythms, which she weaves together with modern influences.
