#voicesfrom

#voicesfrom: Sab & Raw Feminist LGBTQIA+ living in Morocco

For almost 3 months now we have been locked up. At times, to forget that I'm in "an endless day", I dream of the beach which is less than 100 meters away.

#voicesfrom: Musik und Text von Petar Yotov

I am an artist who express his creativity through music. Basically I make a living from live concerts, writing music, recording guitar for other artists and giving guitar lessons. So that was the plan for March- full of gigs, album releases with some bands I take part in and a tour with them.

#voicesfrom: Covid-19 Notes by Jumoke Sanwo

Now that power is shifting like a compass, forcing us to re-adapt, we are likely to chart a new course post Covid-19, from the ‘PhilantroCapitalist”, seeking a vaccine to save the world, to world leaders trying to dismantle years of systemic oppression and the obvious state of disparity between the Global ‘North and South’

#voicesfrom: Art Work and Text by Sevda Semer

These days, I so often read the news and then go draw. Today I read about human rights groups that warn that while England’s health system rushes to protect its workers, it must not ignore the slave-like conditions of those making rubber gloves. This has become one more way for me to ask myself if this current crisis is what it takes for us to understand that we’re here together.

#voicesfrom: Collective SAQFE, Morocco

The quarantine period, since its inception, was full of persecution and slander against the queer people in social media and in real life.

#voicesfrom: The coronavirus, art and culture in South Africa: a reflection by Mike van Graan

We are into the third week of our hard lockdown in South Africa. Only essential workers are allowed outside to work. The rest of us are required to stay indoors, permitted out only to acquire food and medicine. No outside exercise. No walking the dog. No alcohol being sold. Not even cigarettes. All of this with the aim of “flattening the curve” of infection, to provide more time for our health services to prepare for the eventual spike in critical cases.

#voicesfrom: Art Work and Text by Ani Ganzala

Ani Ganzalas reflection on the current Covid-19 Situation in Brazil:

I made this illustration as a contribution to what we are feeling,
as a Black artist, stud and mother from the Northeast of Brazil,
and to show how this situation has affected us as a community,
where all the lines of oppression become even more evident and raw.
